1:72 RT-33A Shooting Star is a plastic kit in 1:72 from Kovozavody Prostejov. The RT-33A is the RECONNAISSANCE version with a camera in the nose, built predominantly for foreign air forces — not the T-33A trainer.

An unassembled injection-molded plastic kit from Kovozavody Prostejov. Watch out for a mix-up with the sister boxes: the RT-33A is a reconnaissance machine with a camera in the nose, whereas the T-33A is a trainer with dual controls. The difference is substantive, in the purpose as well as in the nose of the aircraft, not just in the decals. Kovozavody Prostejov is a Czech brand that in the 1970s and 1980s was among the European giants of plastic modeling. Check the specific schemes on the box.
The airframe of the P-80 fighter, lengthened to take a second seat, proved so usable that Lockheed made not only a trainer out of it but a tactical reconnaissance machine as well. The RT-33A received a camera in the nose and additional equipment in the rear cockpit; it was produced predominantly for foreign air forces, which thus gained a reconnaissance asset built on a machine they already knew from training. In Europe it was operated by Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Greece and Turkey, usually in small numbers alongside dozens of T-33A trainers. One American RT-33A ended up in a far more exposed role: from 1961 it flew secret reconnaissance missions over South Vietnam and Laos, before the faster RF-101 Voodoo took over from it.
The nose is the main distinguishing feature of the reconnaissance version, so try its parts dry and compare them with a photograph of the machine you are building — the camera windows tend to be placed differently on different machines. Mask them, or glue them in only after the spraying. Machines in bare metal need a smooth gloss base and a metallic finish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
