A publication of the Trojca publishing house, not a kit. The first part of a monograph devoted to the German Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. B heavy tank, which carried the service designation Sd.Kfz. 182 and the nickname Königstiger, meaning royal tiger; the Allies called it the King Tiger. The author of the series is Waldemar Trojca.
The Tiger II was the heaviest German production tank of the war. It carried the long 8.8 cm KwK 43 gun with outstanding penetration, heavy sloped frontal armor and a weight of around seventy tons. Early machines had a differently shaped turret than the later batches, which is the basic distinguishing feature on models. It was deployed from 1944 on the Western and the Eastern Front. Firepower and armor made it a difficult opponent, but the weight strained the transmission and the running gear and limited where it could get through at all. Only a few hundred were built, so it was a rare machine even on the German side, and all the more often it turns up on modeling benches.
For modelers of German vehicles in 1:35 scale, for anyone interested in the history of armored forces and for collectors of the Trojca series. The number of pages and the language are not stated here; the details are given in the imprint of the book.
