Perry Miniatures Travel Battle - a wargame in a box

A complete tabletop wargame in a single box, intended to be played on a small area. It contains two armies in contrasting colors in the Napoleonic style, two three-dimensional terrain boards, buildings, dice and rules. The playing pieces are small figures about eight millimeters tall in colored plastic, so they do not have to be painted and can be used straight out of the box. This is not a set of additions for a diorama but a game with everything it needs.

How the game works

The two terrain boards can be put together along any edge, so several different battlefields come out of them without your having to buy anything else. The boards have a grid of squares drawn on them, so there is no measuring with a ruler during play and the game moves along. The rules are simple and one game takes about an hour, which is exactly what you expect from a travel game. Both sides have the same number and composition of units, so the result is decided by the players' choices, not by how the forces are divided.

Use

• The playing pieces are in colored plastic and do not need painting.
• The boards can be put together along different edges to change the battlefield.
• The grid of squares replaces measuring with a ruler.
• Anybody who wants to can paint the pieces like ordinary figures.

Who it is for

For players who do not have a large table at home, for traveling, and for getting to know the rules of wargames without having to acquire an army.
