This part of the shop is not about models at all. It is about the bench, and it gathers everything that gets used up or worn out while a kit is being built: blades and abrasive paper, cement and filler, paint, thinner and pigment. The order follows the stage of work rather than the product type, because a cutting tool and a finishing varnish are bought at different moments and judged against different things.
If you are only starting, there is no sense in stocking up. Read the instructions of the kit in front of you and add equipment when you actually run into the need for it. Most of what sits in this branch outlasts dozens of models.

The model building stage covers cutting, sanding, gluing and filling, so that is where modelling tools and adhesives live, together with fillers and abrasives. Scratch-building materials belong here too – rod, sheet, tube and wire for parts you make yourself rather than buy.
Painting supplies hold the paints grouped by binder, the primers and surfacers that give them something to key to, the thinners and cleaners that keep the mix and the tools usable, and the masking materials that decide how crisp a camouflage edge turns out. Model paints themselves are split by type and by subject, and spraying has its own section in airbrushes, with compressors, nozzles and spare parts alongside the guns.
Weathering deals with wear, dust, streaking and the darkening of panel lines. Modelling chemicals gather the bottles that are neither paint nor glue – decal setting solutions, masking fluid, matting base and the like. Where a shape has to be sculpted rather than assembled, sculpting tools and two-part putties take over.
The modeller's bench covers lighting, magnifiers, cutting mats, organisers and display cases, and display bases are what a finished build finally stands on.
One sharp blade, a pair of sprue cutters, fine abrasive paper, cement for plastic and a few shades of paint will carry a first model from start to finish. Add an airbrush, surfacers and weathering products only once something specific about your own result starts to bother you. Bought earlier, they sit unused, because the difference they make is not yet visible to you.
