A filbert brush with synthetic fiber from the Mr. Brush BS line of the Japanese brand Gunze. The filbert shape is also called a cat's tongue: the edge is flat but curved into an arc, so the brush leaves no sharp edges behind its strokes and suits smooth transitions. It is a tool, not a paint.
For figure builders and for modelers who paint with a brush and want transitions without visible edges. The curved edge follows a rounded surface, so the paint spreads more evenly than with a flat brush. Synthetic fiber keeps the shape of the arc even after washing and stands up to solvents better than natural hair.
Never let paint dry in the metal ferrule; it cannot be washed out of there and the fiber splays permanently. After work, wash the brush with the thinner matching the paint you used, then with soapy water, shape it with your fingers and let it dry lying flat or with the fiber upward. Do not press the brush hard against the model and do not stir paint in the jar with it; both ruin the shape of the fiber faster than painting itself.
