The Schützenpanzer Puma in 1:35 scale from Das Werk. A kit of the modern Bundeswehr infantry fighting vehicle with photo-etched parts, clear parts and workable track links.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded kit of the current German Schützenpanzer Puma. This is not the armored car of the same name from the Second World War but a modern tracked infantry fighting vehicle. The box holds plastic sprues, photo-etched parts, clear parts and workable individual track links. The slat add-on armor and the protective surface on the hull roof are reproduced, and the crew hatches and the machine gun station in the turret can be built open or closed. The decals carry Bundeswehr markings.
The Puma replaces the older Marder in German mechanized units. It has a remotely controlled unmanned turret with a 30 mm cannon and a coaxial machine gun, and it carries a crew of three and six dismounts. At the heaviest protection level the weight approaches 43 tons, the speed reaches around 70 kilometers per hour and the range about 600 kilometers. Modular armor allows the vehicle to be lightened for air transport and built up again before deployment.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the workable tracks before you attach the side armor plates. Glue the slat armor after a dry fit and watch that it keeps a true plane. The modern three-color Bundeswehr camouflage is sprayed with soft transitions, best with a stencil held a little above the surface. Keep the weathering restrained, because this is a vehicle in active service, not a war wreck.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
