A set of masks for painting the glazing frames of the Fieseler Fi 156 Storch in 1:72 scale from the maker IBG. It is neither a model nor an accessory that would stay on the aircraft: they are cut auxiliary shapes that are stuck onto the glazing, sprayed over with paint and taken off once it has dried. What remains is a sharp frame with no bleed.
The Storch has one of the most extensive areas of glazing an aircraft of its size can have. The cabin is angular, divided by many frames, and in a small scale masking it by hand with tape really is a lengthy job. It is exactly here that a ready-made set pays off most: it saves time and nerves and the result is even, because all the frames are of the same width.
First degrease the glazing and let it dry. Lift the masks off the sheet with a sharp point, seat them with tweezers and press them down with a wooden stick so that they bed in over their whole area. Apply the paint in thin coats, otherwise a bleed will get under the edge of the mask. Remove the mask while the paint is fresh, or it may tear the edge of the coat.
The set is an aid for painting, not a part of the finished model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
