A set of printed wheels with covered hubs for the Fieseler Fi 156C-2 Storch in 1:72 scale from the maker IBG. This is not an airplane kit but a replacement part in the variant with a closed hub, that is, with a cover over the center of the wheel. Printing from resin gives the tire a clean tread with no parting line and the cover a smooth, regular shape.
The Storch was built for a long time and in many production runs, so the small things changed. Covered hubs are one of them: some of the aircraft had them, others flew with an open hub. On a model it is a detail known to anyone who has looked at photographs of a particular machine, and a mix-up tells. That is why the maker offers both forms separately and the builder chooses according to the real subject.
Separate the parts from the print supports, smooth the pads and wash them in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting. They are glued with super glue. For a tire choose dark gray; a hub cover is usually painted in the same shade as the lower surfaces of the aircraft. Light dust on the lower part of the wheel will give the model contact with the ground.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
