A printed insert of the internal structure of the cockpit for the Spitfire Mk.Vb in its tropical version, 1:72 scale, the maker IBG. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory. The part carries the frame structure of the fuselage, the floor features and the seat as one assembly, so assembling small parts falls away and the cockpit gains a detail that plastic cannot carry in a small scale.
The Mk.Vb was the most numerous version of the Spitfire and in its tropical form it served in North Africa, on Malta and in Italy. The cockpit stayed similar to the early versions, but the interior equipment changed during production and on later machines further features were added. Because the cockpit of a Spitfire is clearly visible once the canopy is open, an insert is among the most effective accessories at all.
Try the part dry while the fuselage halves are still apart and carefully sand down any overhang. It is glued with super glue. Paint the interior in interior green, bring the structure out with a dark wash and lighten the edges with a dry brush. Add the belts and the instruments separately if the set does not hold them.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
