DSPIAE PT-MPS, a parts separator is a modeling aid for separating plastic parts from the sprue.
Responsibility details are not available.
A modeling aid from the maker DSPIAE for separating plastic parts from the sprue. The manufacturer calls it an automatic parts detacher; it does not spell out in the designation the principle on which it works, so that principle is left unstated. It is not a paint and not a kit but a tool.
Separating a part from the sprue is the first and most often spoiled step of a build. When a part is broken off, a crater is left on it or a thin section snaps, and the repair costs more time than the whole rest of the build. That is why separating is dealt with by tools which guide the cut where it belongs and do not carry the force into the part. The result is a sprue nub which only has to be leveled with a file, instead of a damaged surface which has to be filled.
Always separate with a margin, that is not right at the surface of the part, and level the sprue nub afterwards with a file or a knife. On clear parts and on thin rod-like sections go in smaller steps, because those snap the most easily. Keep the working surface of the tool clean; plastic residue makes the cut run worse. It is a good idea to catch the offcuts, so that they do not fly off across the bench.
This is a tool. A kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
