1:200 Twin Set Roc Amadour + Bordasteinur is a Heller twin pack with kits of two fishing trawlers for deep-sea fishing in 1:200 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The twin pack from the French brand Heller contains two kits of a modern fishing trawler in 1:200 scale, each in a different configuration and under a different name. This is neither a warship nor a sailing ship: the subject is a working boat equipped for deep-sea fishing, that is a theme that stands out pleasantly in a display case full of warships.
The Roc Amadour was built in 1973 by the Ateliers et Chantiers de la Manche shipyard in Dieppe and was fitted out at Lorient, where she also received her registry marking. She is a stern trawler equipped with pelagic trawl gallows, which allow the net to be maneuvered at great depths. The second form of the same ship bears the name Bordasteinur: in 1994 a Faroese shipping company bought her, named her after itself and operated her from the port of Fuglafjordur. She fished predominantly over the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and one voyage lasted on average about fifteen days.
A stern trawler stands on its working stern, so leave the trawl gallows, the winch drums and the ramp for the end and take them further than the hull. Let the hull cure after gluing before you start filling the waterline. A pair of kits in one box calls for different wear: one ship after dry-docking, the other with rusty streaks under the anchor hawses and a sun-bleached superstructure. Apply the oil streaks onto a gloss base, otherwise they cannot be wiped into shape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
