This is a bundle of accessory sets for the plastic kit of the P-51B Mustang fighter in 1:32, intended for the Eduard kit. On its own it is not a model of the aircraft. The base of the package is the LööK set — a separately cast instrument panel with glazed dials, which Eduard supplies with photo-etched seatbelts. The plus suffix means that the package also carries further small sets and TFace masks for both sides of the glazing. Which sets are enclosed, check on the box: the composition of the LööKplus packages differs. Eduard is a Czech manufacturer from Obrnice near Most.
The Malcolm Hood is a bulged, rearward-sliding cockpit canopy, which the British firm R. Malcolm and Co. fitted to Mustangs. It replaced the original framed glazing of the B and C versions, nicknamed Birdcage, and markedly improved the view to the sides and upward; to the rear less so, because the rear fuselage remained unchanged. Most British Mustang Mk III machines received it, as did a number of American P-51B and P-51C machines with the 8th and 9th Air Forces. The sister package from the same manufacturer aims at the version with the framed Birdcage canopy — they are two different forms of the aircraft.
Wash the castings free of release agent and cut off the pour blocks; resin holds only on cyanoacrylate glue, ordinary glue for plastic will not join it, and protect your breathing while sanding. The instrument panel is glued in before the fuselage is closed. Stick the TFace masks on from the outside and from the inside and spray the inner cockpit frame before you glue the glazing in place.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
