MiG-15 exhaust nozzle PRINT 1:48 (Eduard) is a 3D-printed exhaust nozzle that replaces the plastic part of the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set, not an airplane model. It holds the exhaust nozzle of the MiG-15 in 1:48 scale made by direct 3D printing and is meant for the MiG-15 kit from Eduard, whose plastic part it replaces. The nozzle is among the places a viewer looks at first: it is open, deep and on injection-molded plastic it is necessarily thick-walled. The printed part has a wall close to scale and an interior drawn out as far as the eye reaches.
The MiG-15 was powered by a single jet engine in the rear fuselage, so the exhaust nozzle forms the very end of the airframe. The basic version flew with the RD-45 engine, which came from the British Nene, and the later bis version was given the more powerful VK-1. On real machines the metal around the nozzle is distinctly heat-stained, which is a rewarding opportunity for painting with metallic shades and for fine grading of tones.
Separate the part carefully from the print supports, level the mating surface with a fine file and try it dry before you reach for glue. The joint is held by super glue. Spray and grade the inside of the nozzle before you fit it to the fuselage, as it is hard to get inside afterwards. Do not breathe the dust when sanding and keep the room ventilated.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not contain an airplane model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
