The MiG-15 ladder PRINT set in 1:48 scale is a printed accessory for a model of the Soviet MiG-15 jet fighter. It is not an airplane kit but a separate access ladder of the kind hung on the side of the fuselage of a parked machine. Eduard makes it by direct 3D printing, so the part comes out fine and with very thin rungs.
The MiG-15 had its cockpit fairly high above the ground and the ground crew could not reach it without a ladder. On a model it is the detail that gives away at once that the machine is on the ground: an open canopy, a ladder leaning against the fuselage and a figure of a mechanic turn the model into a small scene. Without it a parked aircraft looks empty.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry out properly so that the paint will hold. Cut the thin rungs off with a sharp scalpel and always with support underneath, as the material is hard and brittle at the same time. They are glued with super glue, most reliably the gel kind, which does not run into the corners. Apply a primer before painting, and at the end a dark wash into the corners and fine wear on the edges of the rungs pay off.
This is an accessory, not an airplane model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
