MiG-15bis airbrakes PRINT 1:48 (Eduard) is a set of 3D-printed airbrakes for the bis version, an accessory to a kit, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of airbrakes for the bis version in 1:48 scale, made by direct 3D printing. There is no airplane model in the box; it is a replacement for the plastic parts of the MiG-15bis kit from Eduard. Printing manages what injection-molded plastic does not: a brake panel of a thickness close to scale, a legible inner face and the housing the brake fits into. It shows in full on a model built with the brakes deployed.
The brakes sit on the sides of the rear fuselage and serve for slowing down quickly, whether on the approach to landing or in a fight. The bis version is told apart from the first machines precisely by them: it was given brakes of a different shape and of a distinctly larger area than the basic MiG-15. The set is therefore tied to the bis version, and for the basic machine Eduard has a separate variant.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports with a sharp blade and level the support pads with a fine file. The joint is held by super glue, as cement for polystyrene has no effect on printed resin. Do not breathe the dust when sanding and work in a ventilated space. Fit the brakes only after the fuselage has been sprayed and clear coated, as they are small and break off easily.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not contain an airplane model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
