P-47 D-22RE Thunderbolt - The Duxford Eagles is a plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer Miniart, in the Basic Kit version.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Miniart, which has its 1:48 Thunderbolt line broken down into dozens of production sub-versions. The manufacturer uses the Basic Kit designation for the version without the supplementary materials that it puts in the Advanced variant. The markings cover an American fighter group that was based at the British airfield of Duxford during the war.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was the largest and heaviest single-engine fighter of its day. A radial engine with the turbocharger housed right in the rear fuselage gave it performance at high altitude, and eight machine guns in the wing gave it the firepower to deal with ground targets as well. The D-22RE sub-version belongs to the razorbacks, that is to the aircraft with the original fuselage spine and canopy, and differed mainly in the type of propeller. Duxford airfield is an aviation museum today, but during the war it was home to an American fighter group.
Finish and paint the cockpit before you glue the fuselage together, otherwise you will no longer reach it. The parts are bonded with liquid cement for plastic. Fit the glazing and mask it before spraying so that no paint gets inside. Before the decals, go over the surfaces with a gloss clear coat; on a matte surface air would be trapped under the decal and the edge would turn white. Unify the finished paintwork with a matte varnish and only then add the chipping and the exhaust stains.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
