Five solid brass bars three millimeters in diameter. This is the heaviest size in the whole range and it is used everywhere a joint has to carry something: a load-bearing axle under a large model, the pin in the arm of a heavy figure, the core of a tree or a post in a diorama, a strut between a display stand and a model.
Brass has incomparably greater stiffness in bending than plastic and does not go brittle with age. The material is solid, that is not a tube, so a bar takes a load along its whole length. The surface can be painted without trouble; it is enough to degrease it and spray a primer with good adhesion to metal over it.
They will be appreciated by builders of large models and dioramas, by modelers who do conversions and by anyone repairing a broken part who needs to reinforce the joint so that it will not give way a second time. Three millimeters is a coarse size; for small pins in small scales reach for the thinner versions in the same range.
