MKS-03 Super Metallic Marker Champagne Gold is a DSPIAE marker pen in a richly lustrous gold shade. It has two tips, 0.5 and 2.0 mm wide.
Responsibility details are not available.
A metallic luster is one of the hardest effects to get on a model. Paint from a bottle tends to be grainy and a brush stroke leaves a mark. The MKS line from DSPIAE takes a different route: the pigment has very fine particles and the binder levels itself out once applied, so the face stays smooth and reflects light like a surface rather than like sprayed dust. The Champagne Gold shade is a light gold shifted toward beige, which suits decorative elements, trim and small hardware.
The marker pen has two tips. The thin one, 0.5 mm wide, is for lines, edges and lettering; the wider one, 2.0 mm wide, covers an area in one stroke. The spare tip is kept in the cap and is changed by simply pulling it out. It is applied straight onto the part; the face should be dry, degreased and smooth, because on a matte, rough base metal loses its luster.
It suits builders of robot kits, figure painters and builders of military subjects who need a small metallic detail quickly and without preparation. It will not replace spraying large areas all over, though.
Before you start, press the tip down a few times on an offcut so that the binder spreads evenly. The first stroke tends to be the most saturated and on a model it would stay visible as a darker patch.
Always put the cap back on after work, otherwise the tip dries out. Work in a ventilated room.
