A handle for a broad scriber blade, supplied without a blade, from DSPIAE. The matching blade, which is sold separately, goes with it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The handle on its own, without a blade. It serves to hold a broad scriber blade of the same brand, with which scribing is done not with the point like a needle but with the whole width of the edge. Such a tool leaves behind a groove with a flat bottom and a constant width along its whole length, which is exactly what tells cleanly restored panel lines apart from scratches that have cut into the plastic unevenly.
Clamp the blade so that it protrudes only as far as the work requires; a longer reach bends under pressure and the line widens. Scribe by pulling toward yourself, along a metal straightedge or a flexible template, and without pressure. The first pass is only to mark the track; only the later ones deepen it. Sweep the removed material away with a brush as you go, otherwise it gets pressed back into the groove under the blade.
There is no blade in the package. Without one the tool does not work, so order it at the same time. Tighten the clamping mechanism reasonably; overtightening the nut damages both the fitting and the blade. Wipe the handle after work and store it so that no swarf stays wedged in it.
The handle is worth buying when you plan to work with several widths of blade. Anyone who scribes with a single width will manage with a complete tool; anyone who alternates saves by buying only the blades themselves and keeping one handle for all of them.
