A sanding plate is a rigid backing onto which abrasive paper is stuck and which guarantees that the sanded area really will be flat. Sanding with your fingers or with a soft sponge means copying even the unevenness you want to remove. The flat profile is the most used one of the whole series, because it covers panels, sides, mating surfaces and edges, that is, most of the ordinary work.
The body is of aluminum alloy, which does not bend under pressure, so a flat plane stays a flat plane even after years of use. The red version distinguishes this variant from the other profiles of the series.
The plate is basic equipment for anyone who sands joints, filler and mating surfaces. For concave and rounded areas the variant with a curved profile is the better fit, for inside corners the one with a perpendicular profile. Abrasive papers are not included in the package.
The profiles of the series complement one another: the flat one handles most of the work, the curved and the perpendicular one cover the rest. Anyone who sands intricate parts usually reaches for all three in turn. Do not breathe the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
