The wheels are cast faithfully and offer sharper detail than the parts from the basic kit. This is not an aircraft model but a landing gear detail accessory.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII was a fighter version from the second half of the Second World War. Spitfires used main wheels with various tread patterns; the block tread is one of the characteristic variants. The tailwheel at the rear completed the narrow landing gear typical of the type.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Paint the tires flat and suggest dust with a shading of pigments; pick the hubs out in a different shade. Any flat spot where the wheel meets the ground can be worked in by light sanding.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
