Airscale Spitfire Mk.VIII high-altitude wingtips 1:24 is a resin detail set of pointed extended wingtips for a large-scale model of the Spitfire Mk.VIII fighter from the Airfix kit; it is an accessory, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set from Airscale with replacement high-altitude extended wingtips for the large-scale model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII fighter from the Airfix kit in 1:24 scale. It allows the model to be built in the configuration for operations at great altitude, with pointed wingtips. This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII was also built in a variant for great altitude (HF, High Altitude Fighter) with extended pointed wingtips that increased the span and improved performance in high-altitude flight. That configuration gave the Spitfire an unmistakable silhouette with drawn-out wings.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Fill and sand the joint between the replacement tip and the wing carefully, so that the profile runs smoothly. Lay down a primer before painting and check that the panel lines line up.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
