About product

M1919 Browning .30 cal machine gun for the TBD Devastator 1:32 (Airscale)

This small but precisely made accessory from the British firm Airscale represents the single-barrel M1919 Browning aircraft machine gun of .30 caliber (7.62 mm) in 1:32 scale. It is intended to enrich the armament of a model of the TBD Devastator carrier-borne aircraft, where this machine gun served as the defensive weapon of the rear gunner. It is not a model of the aircraft but a stand-alone detail part.

The real subject

The .30 caliber Browning M1919 was an American air-cooled machine gun widely used during the Second World War, among other things as a flexible defensive weapon in the cockpits of carrier-borne aircraft. On the TBD Devastator it was worked by a crew member in the rear part of the cockpit.

Usage tips

Clean any casting block remains off the part, glue it with super glue and paint it in metallic shades with careful picking out. Careful fine-tuning with tweezers and a magnifier is advisable.

Who the accessory is for

  • Modelers detailing the cockpit of the TBD Devastator
  • Anyone interested in faithful defensive armament of carrier aircraft
  • Advanced builders of the large 1:32 scale

This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
