The Airscale variable-pitch propeller for the TBD Devastator (1:32) is a detailed replacement propeller with a faithful shape of the blades and the hub. It is meant for the Trumpeter kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory from the British firm Airscale offers a replacement propeller with a variable blade pitch for the large 1:32 model of the TBD Devastator carrier-borne aircraft. It is an upgrade part that replaces the propeller from the base kit with more faithfully made blades and a detailed hub. It is not a model of the aircraft.
The target kit is Trumpeter; that is bought separately.
The Douglas TBD Devastator was powered by a radial engine with a metal propeller of variable blade pitch, which made it possible to adapt the bite of the propeller to the phase of flight. The faithful shape and section of the blades markedly influence the overall impression a model makes.
Clean any casting blocks and mold release agent off the parts and glue them with super glue. Set the blades to the same angle, paint the metal and warning shades and add the yellow blade tips if called for. Careful sanding with respiratory protection is recommended.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
