Responsibility details are not available.
A model of the German amphibious vehicle VW Type 166 Schwimmwagen in the version with wide tires (200 mm), 1:35 scale, from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The box contains two figures (a driver and an officer) and weapons (an MG 34 machine gun, a Panzerfaust and a Kar.98k rifle). A kit to be glued and painted.
The Schwimmwagen Type 166 is an amphibious 4x4 cross-country car derived from the Kübelwagen (on the underpinnings of the VW Beetle), and the most numerously built amphibious vehicle of the Second World War. On water it is driven by a hand-lowered three-blade propeller at the rear; it was powered by an air-cooled four-cylinder of about 25 hp, giving about 80 km/h on land and about 10 km/h in the water. It was used for reconnaissance and liaison, especially on the Eastern Front.
Build the model in subassemblies; paint and assemble the interior and the running gear before closing the hull up. After the primer coat, paint with an airbrush, and use washes and pigments (mud and dust effects) to bring the details out. Dry-fit the parts, apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
