An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet self-propelled rocket launcher BM-27 Uragan in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. It is an extensive kit with a worked-out chassis, cab and launcher. Photo-etched parts and clear elements are usually included; the exact contents of the package are given in the instructions.
The BM-27 Uragan (the 9K57 system, the 9P140 launch vehicle) is a Soviet heavy rocket launcher introduced at the end of the 1970s. It fires 220 mm unguided rockets from sixteen launch tubes mounted on an eight-wheeled cross-country chassis. It served for long-range area fire support.
On a kit this extensive, plan the sequence in advance. First assemble the running gear and the chassis, and only then the superstructure with the launcher. Use thin cement for plastic and bond the small photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting, and for weathering use washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
