A plastic kit of the BMW 630 CS coupe in 1:43 scale from Heller. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BMW 630 CS is a large two-door coupe from the middle of the 1970s with which the Munich marque followed on from its earlier range of sporting coupes. Its recognition features are the long nose with the kidney grille tilted forward, slim pillars and a large glazed area, which makes the car look lighter than its dimensions suggest. Under the hood worked an inline six-cylinder engine of roughly three liters driving the rear wheels. A body of this type also became the basis for the later, sharper racing versions of the whole range.
This is an injection-molded plastic kit in 1:43 scale. The finished car measures around eleven centimeters, so it suits a collection where several models share one shelf. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is glued with cement for polystyrene according to the instructions included.
On a coupe with large windows the most conspicuous point is the transition between the body and the glazing, so it pays to fit the glass dry before spraying and to adjust any gaps by sanding. Chrome details such as window frames and bumpers can be handled in miniature with silver paint applied with a thin brush once the clear coat is finished. Finish the interior of the car before you close the body up; access is limited later.
The kit will please collectors of European cars of the 1970s and modelers who prefer small models in a single scale. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
