3D printed exhausts for the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 — outside installation in 1:48 scale from 3DF. A detail accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains 3D printed exhaust pipes for the long-nose version of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9, the Dora, in 1:48 scale, in the variant for the outside arrangement of the exhausts. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic exhausts from the corresponding kit with more faithful parts with hollow openings. It is made by the 3DF brand.
The Fw 190D-9 came about by lengthening the nose of the original Fw 190 to take the liquid-cooled Jumo 213 V12 engine. Short exhaust pipes protruded along the cowling, and their exact shape and outlets are among the details that injection-molded plastic can render only in a simplified way. The outside installation corresponds to machines with uncovered exhausts routed outwards.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports and clean them up. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) onto a degreased surface; protect your airways when sanding resin. Tone the exhausts with dark metal, rusty and burnt shades and pick the hollow ends out with a dark pigment according to how worn the machine is.
This is a supplementary detail set, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
