A resin, 3D-printed detail set from Reskit in 1:48 scale. This is not an aircraft model, but an accessory (aftermarket set) that replaces the exhaust nozzle on the F-105 Thunderchief kit from Hobby Boss. The set is intended for modelers who want to improve the realism of the tail section of this heavy fighter-bomber. You need the base plastic kit from Hobby Boss to use it — it is not included in the package.
The exhaust nozzle is a prominent visual feature of the aircraft that plastic kits often simplify. The 3D-printed rendition offers a finely reproduced structure, accurate panel and internal nozzle detail, and a smooth surface, sharpening up the model's tail section and reducing seams.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove residue of uncured print resin. Carefully cut off the print supports with a sharp cutter and sand the surfaces smooth. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue — ordinary plastic cement does not bond with resin. Wear respiratory protection and ventilate the area when sanding and cutting. Create the nozzle's metallic shades with metallic paints and fine tonal shading after applying a primer.
This is an accessory (detail set), not a stand-alone model. The base kit from Hobby Boss is required to use it and is not included in the package. Paints and glue are not included.
