An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet interceptor Yakovlev Yak-28P (NATO code name Firebar) from Hobby Boss in 1:48 scale. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit to be glued and sprayed, with photo-etched detail added. For the exact contents and the schemes offered, go by the instructions supplied and the markings on the box.
The Yak-28 was a Soviet supersonic combat aircraft developed by the Yakovlev design bureau, with a pair of jet engines in nacelles beneath the wings and a tandem cockpit. The Yak-28P version was intended for air defense as a long-range interceptor: it carried a radar in a lengthened nose and air-to-air guided missiles for engaging enemy bombers. It entered service in the 1960s and patrolled over the vast territory of the Soviet Union.
Finish and spray the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close up the fuselage and fit the engine nacelles. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with super glue. Metal and natural metal surfaces look best over a smooth base and from an airbrush; spray a gloss clear coat under the decals to prevent silvering and even out the surface with a final clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
