This is an accessory set, not a model of the aircraft. It contains wheels with tires shaped as if the machine were really standing on them, that is with a flattened contact patch. The difference from the perfectly round wheel out of the kit is immediately obvious on a finished model. On the Jaguar the landing gear detail is all the more interesting because the machine was designed to operate from improvised and unpaved surfaces, so it has unusually rugged landing gear with wheels that carry the marks of hard use.

The real subject

The SEPECAT Jaguar was a combat aircraft developed jointly by British and French industry. It was originally meant to be a trainer, but development moved it toward low-level attack tasks. It was powered by a pair of turbofan engines and carried a high-mounted wing of small span, which gave it stability in fast flight near the ground.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, because residues remain on the surface after printing.
• Cut the supports off as close to the part as possible and sand the marks away; they have nothing to do with casting.
• Fit the wheel so that the flattened area faces the ground, otherwise the effect does not work.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and apply primer before painting.
• Do not paint the tire pure black; use a dark gray and add dust on the sidewalls.

Who it is for

The set is for modelers of modern combat aircraft who are finishing off the landing gear. The work is quick and is one of the upgrades with the best ratio of time spent to visible improvement.

It is not a model of the aircraft. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
