Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet MiG-3 fighter in the late production form in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is a compact model with finely engraved surfaces, clear plastic for the canopy glazing and decals for several marking options. The late version designation refers to the later production form with modified armament and details.
The MiG-3 was a Soviet fighter of the start of the Second World War, designed above all for combat at high altitude, where it excelled in speed. At lower altitudes, where most of the fighting on the Eastern Front took place, it lost that advantage and was harder to fly. Even so the MiG-3 made up a significant part of the fighter force in the first months of the war after the attack on the Soviet Union and was also used to defend rear-area targets.
Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the clear parts with cyanoacrylate or a special canopy glue. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paints down with an airbrush. On winter schemes a chipped white camouflage and discreet weathering work well, and on summer camouflage schemes gentle accenting of the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
