Add-on sets of this kind replace or supplement the parts that at a small scale can only be handled in a simplified way in a kit, and they move the model closer to the real subject without any need to cut into the whole build.
The La-5FN is a single-seat Soviet fighter of the Second World War, a later version of the La-5 type. It was a machine with a largely wooden airframe structure, which followed from the shortage of light metals in Soviet wartime production. The fighters of this family were among the most widespread Soviet machines of the second half of the war and flew in enormous numbers along the whole Eastern Front.
Before gluing, try the parts dry and compare them with the shape of the kit; in 1:72 scale every tenth of a millimeter shows. Separate the small parts with a sharp blade on a firm surface, not with nippers, and work over a tray, so that a lost piece does not roll across the floor. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and apply it in the tiniest drops; on small areas a pin is enough. Paint the sections that will not be accessible after assembly in advance. The particular procedure for this set is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
