An injection-molded plastic kit of the light attack aircraft OA-4M Skyhawk in 1:72 scale from manufacturer Italeri. The OA-4M is a two-seat version of the famous Skyhawk modified for the US Marine Corps for forward air control (FAC) and reconnaissance duties; compared with combat versions, it is distinguished by a characteristic hump behind the cockpit housing extra avionics. The package includes plastic parts and a decal sheet.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was a single-seat carrier-based light attack aircraft designed to be small, agile, and light. The OA-4M was created by modifying the two-seat trainer version TA-4, and the Marine Corps used it to direct air support over the battlefield and for reconnaissance. Thanks to its compact size and good endurance, the Skyhawk served in many roles for decades.
Dry-fit the joints and clean up the fuselage and wing seams. Finish the two-seat cockpit and mask the glazing before joining the fuselage halves — on a tandem cockpit, a cleanly sprayed frame is especially noticeable. Spray military low-visibility schemes in thin coats; apply a gloss coat before decals, and once dry, unify the surface with a matte coat appropriate to the finish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
