Cut masks for the canopy frames of the Italian SIAI-Marchetti S.211 jet trainer in 1:72 scale. They copy the shape of the individual glazed panels and replace the hand-laid strips of tape.

The SIAI-Marchetti S.211 is a light jet trainer from the 1980s, with a swept wing mounted high on the fuselage and a tandem cockpit in which the instructor sits raised behind the student. It was a private venture by the factory, meant for training from the basic stage up to preparation for combat types, and it served in the Philippines and in Singapore among other countries. The later M-346 grew out of its layout.
The set covers the framing of the canopy and of the windscreen. The cut self-adhesive pieces follow the outline of every glazed panel, so the slow measuring and cutting of tape directly on the model, during which the clear part is easily scratched, is no longer needed.
First polish the glazing and clean the grease off it, then seat the pieces along the engraved frame. It is worth spraying the inside of the canopy in the interior shade, and only then the outer camouflage. Lift the film off from a corner with pointed tweezers and do not put it off until the paint has fully cured, otherwise you risk tearing off the edge of the paint together with the mask.
In 1:72 scale the canopy frames are narrow and measuring them out by hand tends to be the slowest part of the build, so a ready-made set saves a genuinely noticeable amount of time here. The leftover scraps of film also come in handy for covering small areas such as the landing gear wheels or the position lights.
