1:72 Spitfire Mk.IIb and Vb - 20 mm Hispano cannon in fairings and .303 Browning barrel tips is a turned metal armament set for a Spitfire model in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains turned metal 20 mm Hispano cannon together with the fairings in which they were housed in the wing, and with them the barrel tips of the .303 Browning machine guns. It is intended for Spitfire kits from Eduard and IBG. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the plastic armament parts.
The designations Mk.IIb and Mk.Vb refer to the B wing, which combined cannon and machine gun armament. This combination is characteristic of both versions and is clearly visible on a model, because the cannon fairings project from the leading edge of the wing. The contents match the cannon and machine gun armament of the versions named.
The metal barrel has a real bore, so the drilling of the muzzle falls away, which in 1:72 scale usually ends with a slipped drill bit or an oval. Cut the plastic parts from the box off and clean the holes in the leading edge out carefully to the diameter of the metal parts. With the pair of cannon, make sure both sides project the same distance and are parallel, as any asymmetry is immediately visible from the front. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, and on larger contact areas epoxy suits as well. Degrease the metal with alcohol before painting and use a primer for metal, or instead of painting darken it with a blackening solution, which keeps the fine metal look. Fit the barrels at the very end of the build and keep a dusting brush away from them when cleaning the model.
This is an accessory for a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
