The set brings 3D printed chocks for under the wheels and aircraft jacks in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of the aircraft but small ground equipment that is never missing from an apron and that looks convincing on a finished model precisely because it is unobtrusive. The chocks are placed under the wheels of a parked aircraft, while the jacks serve for work on the landing gear.
Wheel chocks and jacks belong to the basic equipment of every aviation apron. A chock prevents a parked aircraft from moving on its own once the pressure in the brake system bleeds off after the brakes are set. A jack, in turn, lifts the aircraft so that the wheels carry no load, which is done when changing tires, during retraction tests of the landing gear and when weighing the machine. Both are small, but in photographs of real airfields they are to be seen all the time.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Ground equipment is brought to life by a dark wash run into the recesses and by drybrushing on the edges.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
