Cupid Sherman from the manufacturer Meng is a stylized kit of the American Sherman medium tank in a caricature form. It is not to scale: it is an entertaining model with shortened proportions.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit from the stylized range in which Meng renders well-known military vehicles in caricature form. The model has a shortened hull, an enlarged turret and childlike proportions overall, thanks to which it reads more like a figure than like a scaled-down replica. That is precisely why it has no scale and cannot be compared with ordinary models: it is judged by how well it captures the character of the real subject.
The Sherman was an American medium tank of the Second World War, built in large numbers and used by the Allied armies on most fronts. It was known for its reliability, its ease of repair and the great number of production variants, which differed in engine, in the shape of the hull and in armament. What is left of it in caricature form are the most typical features, by which you recognize it at first glance: the characteristic front of the hull, the rounded cast elements and the tall silhouette.
Stylized models are rewarding for a quick build and for experiments with painting, as the large areas leave room to try out techniques you would not dare attempt on a model you care more about. We recommend starting with a base color from a spray can or an airbrush, going on with a wash into the recesses and bringing the edges out with a dry brush. Because the model does not have the shape complexity of an ordinary kit, even a beginner will manage it, and it suits a build shared with children. If you want to take the result further, try readable effects on a large surface: pronounced chipping, dust on the running gear and light soiling of the lower part.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
