This model of the RD-33 engine on a maintenance trolley in 1:72 is a printed accessory for airfield dioramas. It is not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail accessory from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models in 1:72 scale, printed from photopolymer. The manufacturer lists it as the RD-33 engine on a maintenance trolley, that is as a separate powerplant removed from an aircraft. It serves above all for maintenance dioramas and does not replace an aircraft model.
The RD-33 is a twin-shaft turbofan engine with an afterburner and a variable exhaust nozzle, in which the flows of both streams mix in a common chamber. The manufacturer intends it for a light tactical fighter, that is for the MiG-29 and the aircraft derived from it. The modular construction allowed an engine to be changed at the base itself, so a removed unit on a trolley was a common sight in a hangar.
The parts are printed from photopolymer, so thin print supports are left on them. Cut them away with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch nippers and sand the pad they leave with fine abrasive paper. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue, because polystyrene cement has no effect on this material. Lay down a filler primer before painting; it will at the same time reveal any remains of the supports. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
