Clear glazing for the forward fuselage of Boeing 727 and 737 models in 1:72 scale. A replacement for modelers who care about a clear flight deck.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing 737 did not appear out of nowhere. It took the forward fuselage and the flight deck over from the older 727, so both airliners have glazing of identical shape. One set therefore covers two widespread airliner types, the ones that turn up most often in model collections.
Clear glazing for the forward fuselage in 1:72 scale, that is the windshield and the side windows of the flight deck. On an airliner the glazing is the most closely watched place on the whole model: the viewer looks into the flight deck, not at the wing, and a dull or thick-walled part spoils the impression of the entire build. Swapping in a separate clear part is the quickest way to move the model forward.
Work with clean hands and hold clear parts by the edges; fingerprints come off the surface far less easily than dust. Try the fit dry while the fuselage is still open and take up any slack by shimming from the inside. Use an adhesive intended for clear parts that does not fog the surface; ordinary super glue leaves a white bloom exactly where the viewer's eye goes. Mask the windows before you paint the fuselage, run the tape precisely along the window edges and press it down with a toothpick. Fine scratches can be smoothed with fine abrasive paper and worked out with polishing compound, and a final dip in gloss varnish brings the clarity back.
For builders of airliners in 1:72 scale who are making a Boeing 727 or 737 and want a flight deck without a flaw. The kit, paints, glue and masking material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
