A clear varnish with a matte effect, the manufacturer's part number LC27. The word Waterbase in the name says that this is a water-based product. The varnish itself neither covers nor colors: it goes onto a finished surface and changes nothing on it but the sheen. The matte finish rids the model of unwanted highlights and evens out surfaces that, after painting, washing and decaling, each look different.
Stir the contents thoroughly before use. The matting agent settles at the bottom, and an unstirred bottle will give only a semi-matte coat. Lay it down thinly on a perfectly dry surface and let the surface flash off between coats. A thick wet coat of matte varnish is inclined to go white, as is varnishing in damp or in the cold; two thin coats are safer than one generous one. Try the result out on a piece of scrap plastic first, because every surface reacts a little differently. The thinning ratio, the right thinner and the cleaning of tools are given by the manufacturer on the label.
For modelers finishing vehicles, aircraft and figures who want the final surface treatment covered by a single product. It comes into its own in any scale, because it does not depend on the subject chosen. The varnish is what is supplied. The model, paints, thinner and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
