A kit of the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank in the version with the 76 mm gun and wet stowage, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sherman was an American medium tank of the Second World War, built in many versions that differed in engine, hull and armament. The M4A3 designation belongs to one of those branches. The number 76 in brackets specifies the armament: instead of the original shorter gun the vehicle carries a longer 76 mm gun and with it a larger turret as well, which is immediately apparent on the model. The letter W then marks wet stowage, where the ammunition bins are surrounded by liquid so that there is less risk of fire after a hit.
It is a plastic model of military vehicles in 1:72 scale. That is a scale suited to a smaller display case and to dioramas where there are to be more vehicles: the finished tank comes out roughly the length of a palm. The part count, the painting options and the exact contents of the package are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The manufacturer also makes the same subject in 1:35 scale, should you want a bigger model.
In 1:72 scale the running gear parts are small, so cut them off a little away from the edge and sand the remainder down. Seat the wheels against a jig or against a straight edge so that the track runs in a straight line; a crooked running gear shows on the finished model more than a missing detail does. Leave the turret loose until you have painted the hull, as the upper surface is easier to reach. To bring out the rivets and the edges in this scale, a darker glaze in the recesses and a lighter tone on the upper surfaces work well.
Paints, glue, filler and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
