Omask 1:48 Avia S-199 / CS-199 masks for control surfaces (for Eduard) is a set of self-adhesive masks for the control surfaces - the ailerons and the rudder and elevators - for models of the Avia S-199 and CS-199 in 1:48 scale from Eduard. It is not a kit but an accessory for painting a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely precut self-adhesive masks from the Czech maker Omask, intended for models of the Avia S-199 and CS-199 in 1:48 scale from Eduard. The masks follow the shape of the control surfaces - the ailerons and the rudder and elevators - and serve to spray them precisely. Modelers use them mainly to set the fabric covering of the moving surfaces off visually against the smooth metal skin of the airframe, or simply to emphasize the control surfaces. This is not a model and these are not canopy masks either; it is an accessory for a kit you already own.
The Avia S-199 was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter that came about by marrying the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 with a Junkers Jumo engine originally intended for bombers. The combination brought unpleasant flying characteristics, a strong torque reaction from the propeller and the notorious nickname Mezek (Mule). The CS-199 was the two-seat trainer version of the same machine. The aircraft served with the Czechoslovak Air Force and some of them reached foreign users as well.
For modelers who are building the Avia S-199 or CS-199 in 1:48 from Eduard and want to take the realism of the surface up a level. Working with the masks presumes basic experience with an airbrush and with spraying in layers.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included. Store the masks in a dry place, out of direct sunlight.
