This is a set of resin replacement exhaust stacks from Quickboost (Aires) for the Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in the Q and N versions in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified exhausts from the base kit. The version with six exhaust pipes a side has finely worked mouths and a more faithful shape.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter with an unusual layout, the engine behind the pilot and a nosewheel landing gear. It served in large numbers with the Soviet Air Force. The rows of exhausts on the sides of the fuselage are a striking visual feature that a resin replacement sharpens up.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release residue from the mold is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a saw, and sand with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting, degrease the whole and spray it with a base primer, on which paints hold better.
This is an add-on resin set, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
