A resin display base with the surface of airfield slabs in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. It is not an aircraft model but a surface on which you stand a finished model. The resin print captures the texture of the concrete as well as the joints between the slabs, so the base looks like a cut-out of a real apron rather than a neutral board.
Soviet and Russian airfields are largely made up of prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs laid side by side in a regular grid. The joints between them stand out in photographs and give the surface a characteristic pattern that anyone who has seen these aircraft in pictures will recognize. That is exactly why a base with such a surface places the model straight into the setting where it belongs.
Release the base from the print supports and sand the underside flat so that it does not rock. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Never paint concrete in a single shade: break the base color up with several close tones, darken the joints and add oil stains and rubber marks from tires. Pigment applied dry gives the surface its roughness.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
