Allied schemes of the Second World War rest on a handful of shades you can name on sight: American olive drab, British dark earth, the dark greens of RAF upper surfaces and the pale undersides beneath them. Keeping them in one group means a complete camouflage for one machine comes from one list, with no cross-referencing between charts halfway through a paint session. Olive drab goes onto American armour as readily as onto an airframe, and British dark earth was worn by vehicles as well as aircraft, so a set bought for one subject rarely sits idle: the aircraft are in aircraft model kits and the vehicles in military vehicle kits.
