A detail set for the Aichi D3A Val in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker HPH Models. This is not an airplane model but an accessory for refining an existing kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an airplane model but an accessory set. It is meant for builders who already have a kit of the Japanese carrier-based dive bomber Aichi D3A in 1:32 scale and want to replace or add the parts whose fidelity shows most in a large scale. The maker is the Czech brand HPH Models, which casts its parts from polyurethane resin into silicone molds in a vacuum.
The Aichi D3A, under the Allied code name Val, was a carrier-based dive bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy. You will recognize it by its fixed landing gear with wheel spats and by its elliptical wing. It was these machines that led the first wave of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and in the first year of the war in the Pacific they sank more Allied warships than any other type of dive bomber. The later D3A2 version was given a more powerful engine and a greater fuel capacity.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, never break them off, and level the cut surface on a file or on abrasive paper laid on glass. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, that is, super glue. Use respiratory protection when sanding. The set is fitted before the fuselage is closed up, so try the sequence out dry beforehand.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin accessory. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
