American AN-M41 fragmentation bombs of 20 pounds in 1:48 scale. Printed parts for completing the external stores of American aircraft of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of printed AN-M41 bombs of twenty pounds in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory to the armament, not an airplane model. The parts are made by 3D printing from resin, so they have sharp edges on the fins and fine details of the fuze, which could not come out of a mold at this scale.
The AN-M41 was a small American fragmentation bomb used during the Second World War against unprotected targets, light vehicles and firing positions. Because of its low weight it was carried in greater numbers, often in clusters or on multiple ejector racks under the wing. Fighter-bombers as well as attack and light bomber aircraft deployed it in Europe and in the Pacific. After impact its effect rested on fragmentation, not on the blast of a large charge.
Separate the parts from the print supports, sand down the pads and wash them in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting. They are glued with super glue. Painting tends to be simple: the body in an olive or gray shade, a yellow band behind the nose and metal tones on the fins. Light shading and a thin dark wash will give the shape depth even at a small size of part.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
