A kit of the Me 262, the first jet fighter put into combat, in 1:32 scale. An entirely new mold with detailed engines and a gun bay.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter in the large 1:32 scale from the maker Das Werk. It is an entirely new mold. The model has the engines worked out in detail, a gun bay with the cannons that can be shown open or closed, and movable flaps, slats and control surfaces. The package also holds the rockets carried under the wing, nose weight and metal pins for stiffening the joints.
The Me 262 was the first jet fighter put into combat. It was powered by two Jumo 004 engines and its armament was four 30 millimeter cannons in the nose, supplemented by unguided rockets against the bomber formations. In speed it surpassed everything that took off against it, but it was plagued by the short life of its engines, a protracted development and a shortage of experienced pilots. It stayed in the air for only the last few months of the war.
Decide in advance whether you want the engines and the gun bay open, because it affects the sequence of the build. Fit the nose weight and secure it before you close the fuselage. Late German camouflage with irregular mottling stands out when it is applied with thinned paint at low pressure. Lay down a gloss coat before the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
