A set of front weighted wheels for the American M3 half-track carrier in its early version, 1:16 scale, the maker DEF Model. This variant reproduces the tread pattern of the Firestone brand. It is not a vehicle kit but a replacement part, on which the flattened contact patch takes care of the impression that the vehicle weighs something. The manufacturer has designated the set for the AHHQ kit.
American military vehicles were shod during the war according to what each factory happened to deliver, so photographs show tires of several brands with different patterns side by side. In the large 1:16 scale the tread is clearly visible and the difference between patterns can be told even in a photograph of a model. That is why the maker offers the variants separately and the builder chooses according to the real subject being built.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry out; they are glued with super glue. Seat the wheel so that the flattened part points exactly downward. Do not paint the tire in pure black; dark gray with fine dust along the sides looks more convincing. It pays to let a dark wash run into the tread pattern.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The AHHQ kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
